In some instances, particularly when existing equipment cannot be dismantled, a wraparound product provides the optimum solution.  When used to insulate busbars, HVBT minimizes the risk of  flashover at service voltages if the bars are bridged temporarily by foreign objects.  HVBT can be used to insulate overhead lines  to minimize risk  of  flashover caused by swinging conductors or reduced clearances such as  under bridges, trees or other physical obstructions.

Although supplied in tape form, HVBT shrinks under the application of heat to form a complete lap to lap seal as the especially formulated adhesives layer melts, thus making HVBT, in effect, wraparound tube.

HVBT is designed to be compatible with, seal onto, other products in the Raysulate range, yet it does not adhere to metal, enabling easy removal for subsequent bolt tightening or maintenance.
